Lana Venckus – known as Lana Banana, has been working as a professional performer in Sydney for over 25 years.

She has now combined her flair for injecting humour and absurdity into every character with her love for all things spooky to create "THE SPOOKY SPECIALIST".

She loves the banter and excitement  of interactive experiences and is comfortable with all ages and audience sizes.

Lana began her particular style of performance work as a member of the Actors Company of the Museum Of Moving Image in London.

It was a wonderful preparation and introduction to the world of improvisation and audience participation – and an exceptional training ground for experimenting with characterisation work.

Lana owned and operated Australia’s first and most authentic conceptual children’s Themed Party and Entertainment Venue “Dollicious Gladesville” in Sydney, from 1995 to 2009.

On an average weekend, she hosted and / or oversaw up to 17 Parties / Events per day – both on and off site…which averaged 40 Parties per week – and over those years, close to an audience of nearly half a million children…

The success of Children’s Events led to bringing the concept to Adult Functions.

In 2009, LANA BANANA FUN ENTERTAINMENT was born.

Lana continues to perform at Parties and Events, however now also consults venues introducing Party concepts.

Lana is frequently commissioned to devise, develop and perform her ‘one – woman shows’ by government, corporate and  tourism organisations.

Lana also introduces role playing and team building exercises  through original game concepts for the workplace..

Clients include Powerhouse Museum, Powerhouse Discovery Centre, National Trust, Kids In The Park, Parramatta Council, Randwick Council, October Sun Enterprises, E Bay Australasia, Commonwealth Bank, Allens Lollies, Ernst & Young and  longstanding affiliation with the Australian National Maritime Museum.

Lana has toured with the Powerhouse Museums’ “Odditoreum Exhibition” and continues to tour her shows and perform at clubs, schools and vacation care centres and shopping centres around Sydney.

All characters created by Lana are unique, original and portrayed with humour and fun.

All shows are interactive and invite high levels of energy and audience participation.

 

And she laughs at herself every single day.
